Experimental Breakfast

~MUESLI~

A combination of rolled oats, other grains, dried fruits, nuts and seed makes for a great breakfast. There are many different ways to prepare this staple, making it a great main ingredient in breakfast. The brand I use is Seven Sundays, they provide many varieties of their muesli.

Here’s how to make it:

What you’ll need

~1/3 Cup of muesli

~1/2 Cup of Dairy Product(or non) (milk, almond, cashew or yogurt) *I use So Delicious Almond Milk*

~1/4 Cup almonds

~1 Cup fresh blueberries

~1 mug, cup or bowl

Add the muesli and choice of dairy (or non-dairy product) and mix together. Then add in the extra ingredients, the almonds and blueberries. I prepped this at night, so I put in the fridge to soak overnight.

In the morning, I topped it off with some Siggi’s Blueberry Yogurt and some more blueberries. This was the perfect breakfast to make me feel energized for the rest of the day.

The Last Days of Summer

After a long blog hiatus, I am deciding to bring it back. I have already moved back into school for cross country preseason but have a few days off before school starts back up on Wednesday. My Instagram account is up and running again, there was not much for me to post when I was running around packing and setting up my room. During camp week my team mainly ate at the dining hall, the DUC, and I didn’t feel like sharing that experience with my followers for the main reason being I got the same thing almost every day. But now I am back to making my vibrantly delicious meals.

After eating cinnamon toast, PB and banana for a week straight for breakfast, being done camp week meant I could eat something else. I chose oatmeal (with a special treat) of course! Here’s the recipe:

~1 cup oats

~1 cup almond milk

~Brown sugar to taste

~handful of blueberries

~2 tsp of crunchy peanut butter

              ~1 tsp of white chocolate chips* (after concluding camp week, I deserved a little treat)

                 ~Microwave the oats and almond milk for 1:30 (depending on your                          microwave). Add in the peanut butter and stir immediately so it melts. Mix in brown  sugar. Top with chocolate chips and blueberries & enjoy!

Sundays are lazy days. Which is just what I was. Lazy. Besides the fact that I ran for 40 minutes just to shake out the long run from yesterday. Basically I just was poolside all day, took a nap and relaxed. The pool water felt amazing on my legs and at one point I even found myself drifting off in my tube. What’s a lazy day without a nap? I’m pretty sure my back is going to be a little darker because I passed out for a while. But it was so worth it.
